The firm was set up by Steven Carey in 1999, in order to focus more closely on tax and strategic planning.  Initial success in tax planning assignments led to an increasing number of clients retaining the firm to look after their accounts.  The growth led to a move to our current offices in October 2002.

Since setting up in 1999, we have seen a steady increase in client numbers. Initially attracted by our success in reducing tax bills, many clients have enjoyed the friendly but professional approach adopted by our team. In 2002, we moved to our current premises in Saltash, and continued to expand our team and the range of services we offer.

Our staff work together as one team, even though our work can be classified along traditional lines.

Tax Planning

Steve runs this aspect of our work.

Over the last three years we have secured over £200,000 of tax refunds for our clients. This is the most enjoyable aspect of our work, according to Steve.

We can advise on all taxes affecting your business. So whether it’s capital gains, inheritance tax, VAT, income tax, corporation tax or National Insurance, we will always

“work harder to keep your taxes lower”.

We want you to know that even if you don’t get a tax refund, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that we will have looked hard to keep the payment to a minimum.

Strategic Planning

Our strategic planning work can be summarised in the sentence, “making your business work for you, not you for your business.”

Helping business owners regain the joy of working for themselves, and developing structures that allow them to take time off produces benefits many times the cost.

Whether it’s finding a way to build a productive team, increase the size of your management team, or simply reduce the stresses of running a successful business, we can and have ideas to offer.

Over the last two years, we have implemented several key ideas that have produced results far in excess of the costs, and delivered better work/life balances to our clients. They and their families are grateful.

Accounting services

Andy (6K)

Andrew Sullivan heads up this part of our team.  Andy joined the firm in September 2006. He is a full member of the AAT and is currently studying to become a member of the ICAEW.

Andy is responsible for overseeing the workload in the office, as well as providing services to a wide range of clients covering a vast spectrum of industry sectors. He has a large amount of experience of working with clients within the motor industry.

His team are responsible for, among other things:

  • Annual accounts, for sole traders, partnerships and companies
  • Tax returns
  • VAT returns
  • Tax credit claims
  • Insurance and other returns,
  • Payroll and PAYE
  • Managing our tax investigation fees insurance scheme

When not in the office or studying, Andy spends a lot of time surfing, visiting festivals, playing golf and socialising.

Jenna Strickland is the leader of this section. She has recently joined the AAT and has started training to be a Certified accountant. She deals with our bookkeeping and business management services, including:

  • Budgeting and cashflow forecasts
  • Management accounting and analysis
  • Daily, weekly and monthly bookkeeping
  • Software selection
